Scheduled to open in November 2010, Lifehouse, a destination health spa is set in 135 acres of beautiful parkland, 12 miles from Colchester in Essex we are looking for experienced Sous Chefs to join the Lifehouse team.

The vision behind Lifehouse is to create and operate a market leading destination health spa in the UK, providing guests with an innovative, service driven product that delivers bespoke results with care.

The Residential destination health spa will also provide day guest facilities and exclusive membership scheme together with;

• 100 bedrooms

The Sous Chef is the direct assistant to the executive chef and is second in command and is responsible for the daily running of the kitchen with the Executive Chef, scheduling, reporting and filling in when the executive is off duty. You will supervise the shift to make sure that the quality of food is to the correct standard and the timing is to the correct speed. You will have expert knowledge of all the recipes and preparation and cooking procedures for all sections within the kitchen. We are looking for two experienced Sous Chefs who will actively motivate the team and take a "hands on" approach as appropriate to the needs of the business. You will have exposure to daily budgets, utilisation statistics and developments through out the day and to share this with the team. Appropriate qualifications for this role are essential along with senior chef experience in a Michelin star restaurant, knowledge of food/wine purchasing, delivery and service and a huge passion for for food and food excellence.
