My client is Britain's leading leisure company with many of the best-known brands in the UK holiday market. I am looking for designate general managers to work across any of their holiday parks located in coastal locations throughout the UK. With an average sized business turning over in excess £12m it is essential that candidates can demonstrate a really strong record in achieving bottom line targets in a large multi faceted leisure business that encompasses a multi million pound sales and hospitality operation. With many of the established General Managers in the business earning between £100 -150K and up to £200K in one location we are only interested in talking to candidates who can demonstrate that they are the best in their particular business sector, quite possibly in a regional or multi site role and looking for a fresh challenge in a new sector.

The role of GM is both complex and demanding, it will involve working long hours 7 days a week during the peak holiday season which is pretty much spring to summer, The role can be broken down into 3 main elements, with up to 4000 new guests each week on package holidays you will have a large team of front of house staff and a very significant cleaning and maintenance team to uphold brand standards at all time and ensure that health and safety standards are second to none.

Your food and beverage operation will encompass several bars, restaurants and franchised fast food outlets and with revenue of up to £80K/week it is essential that you know how to hit margins and GP across all outlets. The real business driver is the sale of new caravans and underpinning the whole operation is the ability to meet and exceed sales targets for new caravans at an average individual cost of between £20 and £40K. You must be able to respond well to pressure, be dynamic and innovative and work well in an organisation that is very driven by brand standards.

The designate programme offers a comprehensive induction to the business and typically lasts between 6 and 12 months, the starting salary for a designate is typically £50-55K plus accommodation on site. On being appointed to a permanent site the basic salary will typically be in the £50-70K bracket and bonuses of 100% of basic salary are common.
